“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” ~Nido Qubein
My friend Ellie, founder of Pink Kisses posted this quote on Facebook this week, and I absolutely loved it.
Are you ever guilty of falling victim to your current set of circumstances?
We are all given our own set of challenges. Don’t let yourself be defined by the past. While we certainly don’t always have control of our circumstances, we can absolutely control how we react and respond to them.
I realize this is much easier said than done, trust me. I still get frustrated, tired and down when we have bad days with Evan. I have to constantly remind myself that I get to choose how I react and respond.
Your current circumstances DO NOT define you. They are simply a starting point. Don’t let yourself end up somewhere you haven’t predetermined you want to go. You owe it to yourself.
What’s your starting point?

Thanks Anne. Just what I needed to hear this morning.
So glad, Alicia! Have a great week!
I read this article in today’s “statesman” – and it seemed to tie in to your point – not only to be mindful that where you are starting does not define the journey, but also that we can work to move forward – even against difficult obstacles. These sorts of stories remind me that my own challenges as a working mom are small compared to what others face.

Thanks, Leela! Can’t wait to read the article!
